Aunt Martha's Victorian Tea-rooms is run by mother and son team, Nadine and Andrew Carr, with involvement from other family members.
Having been involved in bringing history to life in schools and historic sites for almost 20 years Nadine and Andrew felt that the time was right for a change, and in 2007 they converted some of their outbuildings and set up Aunt Martha’s Farmhouse Kitchen. It was here the recipes and techniques they had discovered as part of their historical research began coming to life again alongside some ‘family’ favourites.
It was following a request from a friend to use their garden for a party, with Nadine and Andrew doing the catering, that provided the idea for the tea-rooms. Then as they say the rest is history.
Nadine and her husband, Philip, also known as Old Ned provide talks on a wide range of historical topics; for more information download the Skeletons in the Cupboard brochure.
